The Kevin C. Barnhill Memorial Scholarship and Community Outreach Fund is dedicated to creating opportunities for young men and women while building partnerships with organizations that share our values and commitment to community impact. Through our mission, we strive to invest in people, encourage growth, and support meaningful initiatives that leave a lasting difference.

The Fund also serves as an expression of gratitude for the many blessings, kindnesses, and acts of generosity that have made this work possible. To raise the spotlight of the quality-of-life mission of the Memorial Fund we have sought collaborations with like-minded organizations that share our values and whose missions align naturally with those of the Kevin C Barnhill Memorial Fund. Jason Hester Foundation

One of the perfectly aligned organizations is the Jason Hester Foundation. Established in 2024 to honor the life of Jason Hester who passed away from cancer, the Hester Foundation has been and will continue to be recognized by the Memorial Fund publicly and with financial support to assist in pursuing causes that were important to Jason including youth baseball and the Ronald McDonald House of Cincinnati.

The Kevin C. Recognition & Community Support

Fifth Third Bank Cincy Serves Grant Recipient

In 2026, the Fund was selected as one of just 13 organizations recognized through Fifth Third Bank’s Cincy Serves Community Impact Program during the Cincy Open.

Chosen from more than 160 applicants across Greater Cincinnati, this recognition highlights the Fund’s ongoing dedication to scholarship opportunities, community outreach, and servant leadership.

The recognition also helped bring greater visibility to the organization’s mission and future initiatives.

“Over the 25-year history of the Reds Community Fund, very few projects and partners stand out more than the Kevin C. Barnhill Championship Field at Testerman Park. The

diamond is built on a foundation of deep love and purpose, as Kevin’s memory and his parents’ devotion have helped create and sustain a first-class baseball hub and regional destination. The efforts of Bill and Barbara Barnhill to design, construct, manage and market the Field are truly unique. Their efforts have helped grow community, celebrate the game and raise revenue for their tremendous scholarship fund. Built at the time of grief and uncertainty, the Kevin C. Barnhill Championship Field continues to shine brightly as a testament to a tremendous young man. The Reds Community Fund, in partnership with the Baseball Tomorrow Fund, were honored to be a part of this incredible vision more than 15 years ago."
