Championship Field

The Kevin C. Barnhill Championship Field is the primary quality of life project of the Memorial Fund which certifies the importance of community outreach in providing well-maintained and ultra-safe athletic facilities for our youth.

The Championship Field is a collaboration between the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund, the Baseball Tomorrow Fund of Major League Baseball and the Trustees of the Kevin C. Barnhill Memorial and Hamilton Township.

Opened on May 2, 2009, the Championship Field has hosted over 2100 games and 12,000 youth baseball players from 27 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Six (6) select and adult league organizations call the Championship Field their ‘home field’ as well as regional tournament host, Kings Sports LLC, who includes the Championship Field as one of their premier natural turf tournaments facilities.

The Championship Field will continue its legacy of acknowledging competition, sportsmanship and fair play by hosting 114 games from ages 14 to 65 in 2026.

Grief Support & Servant Leadership

Beyond scholarships and financial contributions, the Fund remains committed to supporting individuals and families through compassion, encouragement, and community-centered leadership.

Through servant leadership and community involvement, the Fund has supported the Grief Share program at Sycamore Presbyterian Church, a ministry that has helped more than 200 individuals navigate the difficult journey of grief following the loss of a loved one.

This work reflects the organization’s belief that meaningful impact goes beyond financial support and includes walking alongside others during life’s most difficult moments.
